I found these on a French holiday website. Some of them are in French - but you get the general idea even if you can't read French - and some are in English.

I tried to contact the Hibiscus by email but did not receive a reply.

The Alizes, though, replied to my enquiry and offered to provide transport from either Banjul airport or from our preferred pick-up point of Diouloulou, in the north of Casamance. That is where we stayed.

Les Alizes

Les Alizes

This is the hotel we chose. It was a great choice - it is wonderful. The villas are huge (ours had three floors and would have slept a family of 10) and very well built, equipped and decorated. There is a TV, DVD, stereo, free WiFi, Air conditioning, a good kitchen, a lovely bathroom with separate loo, a mini-bar, a patio and a balcony with quality wooden loungers, tables and chairs - its basically a really splendid house of your very own.

The hotel also has a beach, two restaurants (with a great half-morrocan chef at the helm), lovely gardens and an infinity pool. The staff and owners are extremely freindly and helpful and around a half of them speak excellent english (but we enjoyed trying out our French, Wollof and Mandinka with those who didn't).

Catherine's birthday was brilliant - a walk on the beach, lunch at La Pirogue (a restuarant 20 minutes walk away), a cocktail in a hammock by the pool and a lovely dinner at the hotel finished off with a specially prepared cake (with sparklers and a rousing chorus of 'Bon Anniversaire' led by waiter Nestor).

Hibiscus

Hibiscus

The Hibiscus and Palmaire are both at the southern end of the beach and farthest away from Cap Skirring village and the airport. The hill that the hotels toward the centre of the beach tend to stand on ends here so you will probably have an easier time getting down to the beach and back up to your room at the end of a long hard day taking it easy. There is a small local restaurant on the beach right next to the Hibiscus / La Palmarie complex (heading south). If you are feeling energetic you can take a jog to the south from here and cross into Guinea Bissau,

La Paillote

This looks like a 'holiday village' of bungaloes. It is situated north of the middle of the Cap Skirring beach just before the Club Med golf course (which separates it from the Club Med beach buidings). The Paillote has the most convenient road access for anyone travelling from Ziguinchor, at the main junction between the Ziguinchor road and the north-south Cap Skirring to Karbrousse road. There is a petrol station, some shops and La Pirogue (restaurnt and lodge) at this junction.

La Palmarie

This is the bungalo complex linked to the Hibiscus.

This hotel has a really bad website, but the place itself actually looks quite nice from the beach. I guess that its a more usual hotel than many of the others in the resort in that the apartments seem to be part of a single building (with a blue roof). Click the image for a closer look - you should see the balconies peeping out of the roof and sun beds on the beach.
